Businesses working in the renewables and offshore wind sectors should perhaps familiarise themselves with a new initiative from the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) called WINDA.
This stands for Wind Industry Database and has been designed to assure the status of GWO certified training providers and delegates who have attended GWO certified training courses. Here at HFR Solutions CIC, we will be updating our processes and procedures so that all delegates will need to provide a WINDA ID as of October 17th. As an employer, you’ll be able to register from this date, giving you access to check the validity of employer and delegate or contractor GWO qualifications.
There are three user profiles in operation. Training providers can upload records of delegates and use the database to support their existing site management systems, employers can use it to verify the training status of delegates. Delegates will be able to access personal verified information as to the status and validity of the GWO courses they complete.
The benefits of using WINDA include reduced compliance costs, reduced risk of fraud from non-certified training providers, improved company and site safety management systems, and more support for current personnel tracking and employee competence assurance processes.
From October 17th, you’ll be able to register as a delegate on the Global Wind Organisation website. Simply choose to be registered as a delegate and include the relevant information, ensuring that you use your own personal email address to register.
