GWO Manual Handling Course | Best Practice Manual Handling and Safe Lifting to meet the GWO BST Standards

Offshore teams consisting of technicians, contractors and operations and maintenance specialists will be required to undertake a variety of tasks such as routine maintenance and repair work undertaken at height and may involve heavy lifting.

Some of these tasks will require specialised equipment, which may require safely transported and lifting once on-site.  This may also include transferring heavy equipment from the shoreline to offshore locations, which may provide a manual handling headache and logistical challenge.

Work at Height

Any work undertaken at height carries a certain element of risk. Therefore, as employers or employees, we have a duty of care to ensure all the adequate precautions have been put in place for any tasks that need to be completed at height and that the work is undertaken by personnel, who clearly display the competencies, knowledge and industry-specific training certifications to complete at height tasks in a safe and controlled manner.

Manual Handling

The GWO Manual Handling element of this module will reinforce positive manual handling techniques, considerations when lifting and moving objects and safe working practices to help reduce the potential risk of injury resulting from incorrect manual handling techniques by assessing the risks and planning the lifting task. Delegates will also need to clearly understand the TILE principle, discuss how to assess and control risks and explain how control measures reduce the risk of injury.

HFR Solutions has unrivalled, state-of-the-art work at height training facilities providing a perfect learning environment for delegates to learn the associated risks and best practice procedures such as working at height, evacuation and rescue of injured persons.

Testimonial

Don't Just Take Our Word For It ......

"I booked and attended three courses with HFR Solutions in order to revalidate my GWO certificates and have recommended them as a training provider for people looking at training for the offshore wind industry.  I found the instructors to be very knowledgeable in every sense of the word, their subject knowledge was excellent.

This knowledge and experience shone through in the confidence when they delivered the training, whilst still remaining approachable to questions and alternative approaches to meet the target objective".

Steff Callis, Director, Dacks Services

"The confidence in our guys has undoubtedly grown. We have found the training to be very professional, in particular, the Working at Heights training. HFR Solutions CIC adjusts the knowledge delivery according to the needs of the delegates but without missing a thing".
